Vaginal and Anal Sex Toys – What is The Difference?

      By admin | March 1, 2009

Vaginal anal sex toys have much in common – both are penis-shaped devices that are designed for insertion. So why some sex toys are designed for vaginal and other toys are designed for anal stimulation?

First of all anal sex toys, such as butt plugs and anal probes are thinner than those designed for vaginal stimulation. As well these toys feature tapered shape. This provides comfortable and absolutely safe insertion. Vaginal sextoys are much thicker, because vaginal stimulation requires more pressure.

The second difference is that anal sex toys have flared base that prevents the sex toy from being lost in the rectum. Thus these sex toys are safe to use anally.
In fact, vaginal sex toys, such as dildos and vibrators can be used anally, but only by experienced users. If you consider yourself to be an experienced user of anal toys, if your anus is used to anal intercourse you can use a dildo or a vibe anally, but do be careful, remember that these toys do not have special flared base that provides safe use of the toy. You had better use sex toys with something that reminds of handle – for instance a realistic dildo with balls.

No matter what sex toy you use – an anal sex toy or a sex toy that is initially designed for vaginal stimulation, use plenty of sex lube on your sex toy in order to prevent injuries or uncomfortable sensations. Make sure your lube is compatible with the material of your sex toy. A condom on the sex toy will provide better hygiene, especially if you use the same sex toy for anal and vaginal use.
